The last portion of Overview page we still have to discuss features the list of programs using network bandwidth.
This section shows the applications and processes responsible for the Internet traffic generated by your machine.
Understanding which programs are connecting to the Internet and how much data they are exchanging is crucial to have a clear picture of your network activity.
This allows to easily spot unexpected data transfers and is a fundamental step to identify potential security issues, such as the presence of malware or data leaks.
Sniffnet identifies programs by collecting and correlating different pieces of system information, such as process IDs, executable paths, and open network ports.
Program details are then shown in this section, including the program name and icon, with the corresponding executable absolute path visible on hover.
